This development, including asbestos removal and demolition of an existing retail unit, was constructed on pad foundations, with sheet piles used to form retaining walls on three sides of the site boundary.
The scheme included a basement car park and storage units for nine retail units located at ground floor level and a two storey residential block above providing eighteen quality apartments with balconies.
Basement to ground floor was constructed as a steel frame with Holorib decking and insitu concrete to ground floor.
The residential block was built in masonary and pre-cast slabs/stairs with pitched roof and dormer windows. The gable ends were finished in rainscreen cladding.
At the rear of the building the amenity deck was paved and furnished with an open walkway and planters. A service road, incorporating an acoustic screen, was constructed at the rear of the building between the two adjoining streets giving access to the car park and retail units storage areas.
The fit out was to a medium/high spec including lift and glass block walling to stair cores.
